  1. ABOUT VERSION 3.1--PLEASE READ!
  2. NetScanTools 3.1 introduces several new features,
  3. enhancements and a simplified method of registration.
  4.  
  5. WHAT'S DIFFERENT:
  6. New features include window resize capability, a new
  7. simple TCP terminal utility, and enhanced Whois and
  8. NetScanner capabilities. Now included is the help file
  9. which was previously only available to registered users.
  10.  
  11. REGISTRATION/PURCHASING:
  12. Registration is simpler. Just press the "Buy Now" button,
  13. press "Next" once, press "Accept", note the 
  14. Registration Number found in the Phone Purchase dialog,
  15. then contact us via Phone, FAX or Mail for purchasing.
  16. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover,
  17. NOVUS and other forms of payment are accepted. Once
  18. your purchase is complete, we will send you an unlock
  19. code with backup instructions via email or phone.
  20. Online ordering is under development.

  22. ADDITIONAL TRIAL TIME:
  23. If you need additional time to evaluate NetScanTools,
  24. your trial period can be extended beyond 30 days;
  25. please contact us via phone or email for details.

  27. CDROMS Available:
  28. If you would rather purchase NetScanTools on
  29. CDROM, the cost is slightly higher, but it's much
  30. easier to reinstall later if you need to.

  32. IF YOU ARE UPGRADING FROM REGISTERED
  33. VERSION 3.0x.x:
  34. Upgrading is a little more complicated than in the
  35. past. Unlike previous upgrades which were automatic,
  36. you have to give us a new number that we use to
  37. generate an unlock code. If you install this new
  38. version in the same directory as your old version,
  39. setup will backup your old version.

  41. Before completing this installation, please run
  42. your current registered version and record
  43. the serial number from across the top of the program.
  44.  
  45. To complete your upgrade from a previous
  46. NetScanTools 3.0x registered version to this version,
  47. we need two things:
  48.  
  49.  1. Identification of you as registered owner. To
  50.  identify you, we ask for your name, company name
  51.  address, and your old NetScanTools serial number.
  52.  
  53.  2. Your new Registration Number which is randomly
  54.  generated when you first run this new version of
  55.  NetScanTools. We need this to generate your
  56.  Unlock Code.
  57.  
  58. At the end of setup, NetScanTools will optionally
  59. launch your web browser to go to this URL:

  62. IF YOU CURRENTLY HAVE REGISTERED
  63. VERSION 2.xx:
  64. You can upgrade to this version for a small fee.
  65.  
  66. If you install this new version in the same
  67. directory as your old version, setup will backup
  68. your old version.
